I made this chair for the house of Tohoku people which built by Toyo Ito the aftermath of 3.11 earthquake. The purpose of the house is to provide a space for communication. The house made from not only the pillar but also chairs using lots of driftwood. In this project, I made cushions which was hand woven-textiles with natural dyeing yarns for the house.
The inspiration of surface design is BORO which is traditional Japanese textiles made with old textiles.
